Gravity by Melissa West

Gravity by Melissa West
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
By the Book: Amazon

Synopsis: In the future, only one rule will matter:

Don’t. Ever. Peek.

Seventeen-year-old Ari Alexander just broke that rule and saw the last person she expected hovering above her bed — arrogant Jackson Locke, the most popular boy in her school. She expects instant execution or some kind of freak alien punishment, but instead, Jackson issues a challenge: help him, or everyone on Earth will die.

Ari knows she should report him, but everything about Jackson makes her question what she’s been taught about his kind. And against her instincts, she’s falling for him. But Ari isn’t just any girl, and Jackson wants more than her attention. She’s a military legacy who’s been trained by her father and exposed to war strategies and societal information no one can know — especially an alien spy, like Jackson. Giving Jackson the information he needs will betray her father and her country, but keeping silent will start a war.

My Review: This book was an awesome blend of dystopian, sci-fi, romance, and OMG just freaking coolness. Ari was a strong and totally bad-ass chick that you can't help root for and be like, "omg I wish I was like her". I felt a bit lost sometimes because some of the transitions in the book I felt were a bit inadequate. Apart from that, I can honestly say this book went higher than my expectations and I am very eager to read the second one.

Cinderella Makeover by Hope Tarr—Blog Tour!

Hey and thanks for stopping by!

About the Book:
The Cinderella Makeover by Hope Tarr
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Buy the Book: Amazon

Fashionista Francesca St. James has agreed to work as a "fairy godmother" on the reality TV show Project Cinderella, taking contestants from geeky to dreamy. When Francesca’s archrival bets she can't transform the awkwardly sweet CEO to hot in under eight weeks, Francesca accepts the challenge. As CEO of a tech company, Greg may have billions, but what’s it worth without a woman to share it with? From day one on the show though, he clashes with his gorgeous fairy godmother—yet off-set, he can’t stop thinking about her. But this sexy woman is so far out of his league…and wants to change every single thing about him. It's up to him to show her it's more than clothes that make the man. May the best man or geek win…

My Review: This book was very cute! I read the first in the series a couple months ago and really enjoyed it. This one I enjoyed probably a bit more. I liked how you get to see another side to Francesca. I felt like in the first book the only image she gave me was one of being a totally presumptuous biatch. Like she only cared about fashion and having a nice life and looking good. Then again the story wasn't really about her and it was just a skim. In this book we see Francesca in a totally new light. She's struggling with different aspects of her life and you can see how truly worried she is about the direction her relationship with her daughter is going and how she regrets many events that led them there.
Greg is this charming, yet a bit socially awkward guy. He's cute and messy and not very fashionable. Totally NOT like Francesca. Somehow they're attracted to each other and after some time I can actually see how.
I loved how you it's almost... creeping up on them, the whole liking each other thing. At first they both just feel contempt and suddenly they actually genuinely get along. Very good read. Such a cute romance.

Real Men Don't Break Hearts by Coleen Kwan

Real Men Don't Break Hearts by Coleen Kwan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Buy the Book: Amazon

Synopsis: Ally Griffin is horrified to learn her new landlord is none other than the infuriating playboy Nate Hardy—the man whose wiles she just knows got her jilted at the altar six years ago. Add to it that her ex-fiancĂ© Seth is showing up in her hometown of Burronga, Australia, to marry his beautiful new bride…for real this time. But the kicker? Everybody’s treating Ally as though she’s still heartbroken. She’s just fine, thank you very much, but could The Jilter have the decency not to hire her sister as his florist?

Nate Hardy is tired of his high-flying city career and bachelor lifestyle and is looking for something more real. The last thing he needs is to find himself undeniably attracted to Ally, the woman with whom he never saw eye-to-eye. But is he even capable of what Ally wants and deserves?

As Ally tries to pull her life out of the rut it’s fallen in, she doesn't count on Nate stirring up her emotions. A short-term fling with the resident bad boy is practically irresistible, but only if she can guard her heart...

My Review: This book was freaking awesome!! It had just the right amount of stubbornness, the right amount of build up and a whole bunch of sexy male. Yum. Ally is awesome. I actually felt kind of bad for her though because everyone insist in feeling bad fir her because they all think she's still extremely hung up on her ex. She is so not. And try as might nobody will leave her alone about it!
Nate Hardy? Can I absolutely scrumptious? Yup, i just did. It's a great story and i definitely would recommend it.

Pages: 252
Format: Kindle

Synopsis: After surviving a deadly plague outbreak, sixteen-year-old Savannah thought she had lived through the very worst of human history. There was no way to know that the miracle vaccine would put everyone at risk for a fate worse than un-death. Now, two very different kinds of infected walk the Earth, intent on nothing but feeding and destroying what little remains of civilization. When the inoculated are bitten, infection means watching on in silent horror as self-control disappears and the idea of feasting on loved ones becomes increasingly hard to ignore. Starving and forced to live inside of the abandoned high school, all Savannah wants is the chance to fight back. When a strange boy arrives with a plan to set everything right, she gets her chance. Meeting Cole changes everything. Mere survival will never be enough.

About the Author:

I have been in love with stories in all of their forms for as long as I can remember. Admittedly, sometimes that means falling into places like Stars Hollow and Sunnydale, but books have always been my true love. In early 2011 I began writing a book blog in order to share my favorite reads with book lovers. From there, the bookish community encouraged me to stop sitting on my own stories and share them instead. Since then I’ve been madly devouring everything I can about digital publishing.

For the past two years I have been mainly obsessed with young adult books, but my favorite stories still come from the adult fantasy genre. As far as I’m concerned, Briggs, Bishop, Vincent and Vaughn are all must reads.

I spent part of my twenties living in Galway, Ireland and swooning after various lilting accents but am now back home in Ontario, Canada. My family includes two Glen of Imaal Terriers and a Green Cheek Conure.

My Rating: 4 of 5 Stars
My Review: I am going to start by saying that I have never been a huge fan of zombies. To be quite honest here, I've always found them to be stupid and annoying. I mean what's up with the whole "Arrgh, I'm going to walk extremely slowly while you run, but I still catch you and will eat your brain." thing, right? So, I was a tiny bit skeptical when I saw the cover, albeit gorgeous, I was like, zombies...? But I read the synopsis and it seemed interesting. And boy, was it good. It was great! A fantastic read. Savannah was so firece that there was no way to not love her. The story itself is very intense and there's a lot of action going on. There arent many survivors and it's a huge strain on everyone to be going through so many states to look for other survivors. At times I was at the edge of my seat (technically bed, lol) because it was just so... ahh! I loved the characters and the twists the story has, Kellie was very creative and I loved it.

V is for Virgin by Kelly Oram

V is for Virgin by Kelly Oram
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Buy the Book: Amazon

Synopsis: When Val Jensen gets dumped for her decision to stay a virgin until marriage, the nasty breakup goes viral on YouTube, making her the latest internet sensation. After days of ridicule from her peers, Val starts a school-wide campaign to rally support for her cause. She meant to make a statement, but she never dreamed the entire nation would get caught up in the controversy. As if becoming nationally recognized as “Virgin Val” isn’t enough, Val’s already hectic life starts to spin wildly out of control when bad boy Kyle Hamilton, lead singer for the hit rock band Tralse, decides to take her abstinence as a personal challenge. How can a girl stay true to herself when this year’s Sexiest Man Alive is doing everything in his power to win her over?

My Review: I adored this book! I loved Val's strenght and how she stood up for herself and her beliefs. She was set and was determined to take it all the way and not back down from her opinion. She makes a whole campaign on how people should stay virgin until they feel ready because many people have sex before they want, just to give in to their boyfriends, and possibly later regret it. She's Virgin Val, taking her campaign everywhere and it all spirals so much out of control it's crazy!
When sexy Kyle Hamilton walks into the picture... my, my the sexual tension is sizzling and let me tell you what a temptation this boy is.
