Synopsis: Casey Donovan has issues: hair, height and uncontrollable trips to the 19th century! And now this --she’s accidentally taken Nate Mackenzie, the cutest boy in the school, back in time. Awkward.
Protocol pressures her to tell their 1860 hosts that he is her brother and when Casey finds she has a handsome, wealthy (and unwanted) suitor, something changes in Nate. Are those romantic sparks or is it just “brotherly” protectiveness?
When they return to the present, things go back to the way they were before: Casey parked on the bottom of the rung of the social ladder and Nate perched high on the very the top. Except this time her heart is broken. Plus, her best friend is mad, her parents are split up, and her younger brother gets escorted home by the police. The only thing that could make life worse is if, by some strange twist of fate, she took Nate back to the past again.
Which of course, she does.

Clockwise is a fast-paced, fun and entertaining novel. I loved it! I loved the whole concept where she travels back in time and she can't control any of it; that no one notices when she travels. I really liked, very much, how everything in the present sort of just freezes while she travels and even though she spends an indefinite amount of time there. When she comes back, everything's the same as when she left.
I was very pleased with this book. Even though in the beginning Casey is totally tongue-tied with Nate (aren't we all when we have such a huge crush?), she pulls on her big-girl panties and takes control of the situation when she accidentally takes Nate back in time. I liked how Nate had a pretty realistic reaction to everything. At first he thought it was a all a huge joke, instead of just buying it all or freaking out—it was great! It was pretty refreshing. The situations they face when they travel back are interesting and I loved how she managed to adapt herself to that era.
I can't wait to read ClockwiseR!

My Book Boyfriend (2): Dimitri Belikov

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by The Unread Reader where we get to swoon and openly drool over guys we loved in books.

This week my Book Boyfriend will be the ever strict and totally hot Dimitri Belikov from Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. He made me melt from the first book and proceeded to sweep me away in the rest of the series.

Dimitri Facts:
  • Long brown hair, usually brushed back into a ponytail
  • Brown eyes
  • A dhampir (awesome half-vampire)
  • A BADASS dhampir
  • Guardian
  • Rose's tutor

Why I Love Him:
Well, I loved many things about him. It's maybe a little weird because I usually go for the more reckless guys and Dimitri is a total opposite. He is all about the rules, respect, and order. He was always so composed and then to see him lose some of that strenght to Rose is something so incredibly romantic. Jesus, he just blew me away!
I loved how he was so good for Rose, how he wanted her to be great and good and responsible. he wanted her to be the best he could be and was just this force around her, pushing her to go forward. Most of all I loved how he believed in her.

Favorite Quotes/Scenes:

Vampire Academy
Dimitri: "She might be wild and disrespectful, but if she has potential—"

Rose: "Wild and disrespecful? Who the hell are you anyway? Oursourced help?"
Kirova: "Guardian Belikov is the Princess Lissa's guardian now, her sanctioned guardian."
Rose: "You got cheap foreign labor to protect Lissa?"

Last Sacrafice
“Dont worry, Roza, I'm not afraid. I'll take whatever heat they give me over being with you. It's worth it.”

Vampire Academy
“No. If I let myself love you, I wont throw myself in front of her. I´ll throw myself in front of you.”

Shadow Kiss
Rose: "Wait. You think I'm going to die? That's why you slept with me?"
Dimitri: " No, no, of course not. I did what I did because... believe me, it wasn't because of that. Regardless of the specifics- or if it`s even true- she was right about how easily things can change. We try to do what`s right, or rather, what others say is right. But sometimes, when that goes against who we are... you have to choose. Even before the Strigoi attack, as I watched all the problems you were struggling with, I realized how much you mean to me. It changed everything. I was worried about you- so, so worried. You have no idea. And it became useless to try to act I could ever put any Moroi life above yours. It`s not going to happen, no matter how wrong others say it is. And so i decided that`s something I have to deal with. Once I made that decision... there was nothing to hold us back. Well, to hold me back. I`m speaking for myself. I don`t mean to act like I know exactly why you did it."
Rose: " I did it because I love you," I said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. And really, it was. Dimitri: "You can sum up in one sentence what it takes me a whole speech to get out."
Rose: "Because it`s that simple. I love you, and I don`t want to keep pretending that I don`t."

Dimitri Belikov: My Dimitri is Taylor Kitsch

The Boyfriend Thief by Shana Norris

Release Date: April 30, 2011
Publisher: Shana Norris
Age Group: --
Pages: 188
Format: epub
Shelfability: Bought
Source: Bookstore
Buy the Book: Amazon

Synopsis: Avery James has her life planned out: this summer she'll work with a humanitarian program in Costa Rica, next year she'll graduate at the top of her class, and after that, college and medical school. Perfect, planned, total order.
The only problem: getting the rest of the money she needs for the trip before the deadline. Hannah Cohen, her biggest competition for the valedictorian title, makes an unexpected offer: If Avery can win over Zac Greeley and make him break up with Hannah before the end of the school year, a check for five hundred dollars is all hers. Faced with the prospect of spending yet another summer working as a giant hot dog, it's an offer Avery can't refuse.
Zac is nothing like Avery expected. Within his chaotic world of midnight slushie runs and spontaneous dance parties, her total order is quickly falling apart while Hannah seems poised to get everything she wants. But just how much is Avery willing to give up for the perfect, planned life?

This book was a fun read, very entertaining and cute. I liked how things turned out in the end very much and I thought it had a sort of different taste and twist there near the end.
Zac is an easy-going, quirky, fun guy, but everyone treats him like he's an idiot. He's actually smart and kind and I loved that, especially how he managed to surprise Avery a few times.
Avery had me a little tired with all of her mistrust with pretty much everyone. I do understand how she was betrayed and that makes her mistrustful towards people, but come on!
Her mother abandoned Avery a few years ago ans she is, of course, affected by this and I loved how she put on her big girl panties and took care of her family, especially her brother. I thought it was sweet but that she should have been a bit looser. Not so uptight. That pissed me a little, but whatever.
In conclusion, really it was fun and great, cute and funny.

Tammara Webber—Title and Cover Reveal!

Hey guys!

I am so happy to be able to reveal to you today the Cover and Title to Tammara Webber's new stand-alone novel. I'm very excited because I'm a fan of her work. She has a series called Between The Lines which I absolutely adored and I can't wait to read another of her stories. I love the drama, romance and the very life-like situations that she gives her characters, making it all the more relatable. I'm very excited and non-patiently awaiting its release.

Okay! And here it is... the moment we've been waiting for... And the title is...

And check out the sexy cover!

Jacqueline follows her longtime boyfriend to the college of his choice, the last thing she expects is a breakup. After two weeks in shock, she wakes up to her new reality: she’s single, attending a state university instead of a music conservatory, ignored by her former circle of friends, stalked by her ex’s frat brother, and failing a class for the first time in her life.
Her econ professor gives her an email address for Landon, the class tutor, who shows her that she’s still the same intelligent girl she’s always been. As Jacqueline becomes interested in more from her tutor than a better grade, his teasing responses make the feeling seem mutual. There’s just one problem—their only interactions are through email.
Meanwhile, a guy in her econ class proves his worth the first night she meets him. Nothing like her popular ex or her brainy tutor, Lucas sits on the back row, sketching in a notebook and staring at her. At a downtown club, he disappears after several dances that leave her on fire. When he asks if he can sketch her, alone in her room, she agrees—hoping for more.
Then Jacqueline discovers a withheld connection between her supportive tutor and her seductive classmate, her ex comes back into the picture, and her stalker escalates his attention by spreading rumors that they’ve hooked up. Suddenly appearances are everything, and knowing who to trust is anything but easy.

Are you psyched just yet? :)

Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley

Release Date: February 14, 2012
Publisher: Knopf Books for Young Readers
Age Group: 14+
Pages: 272
Format: Hardcover
Shelfability: Borrowed
Source: Friend
Buy the Book: Amazon

It’s the end of Year 12. Lucy’s looking for Shadow, the graffiti artist everyone talks about.
His work is all over the city, but he is nowhere.
Ed, the last guy she wants to see at the moment, says he knows where to find him. He takes Lucy on an all-night search to places where Shadow’s thoughts about heartbreak and escape echo around the city walls.
But the one thing Lucy can’t see is the one thing that’s right before her eyes.

Okay, so I really liked this one. A LOT. I loved how everything seems to to be so... destined I guess. I mean Lucy liked Ed a few years back when they were in Year 10. Granted it didn't turn out to be the date of her dreams when they finally went on one, but then they run into each other again on the night she starts to hunt down Shadow. And Ed is Shadow, which Lucy totally has the hots for, coincidence much?
I loved how the whole time you know that Shadow is Ed but Lucy is completely oblivious to the whole thing and Ed just takes her on this wild goose chase across town. It was a fun, refreshing story and I adored it. I adored how Ed was a complicated guy but at the same time he was willing to compromise.
Lucy was a strong-willed girl and independent which I loved. I also enjoyed very much how they described Shadow's graffiti's and I could just perfectly paint it in my mind.
I loved it and it's definitely worth a read.
