The Daemon Invasion has finally arrived!

Over the last couple of weeks, you’ve heard us talking about the upcoming #daemoninvasion and we’re so excited to finally share with you what is going on.
Really excited.

The beautiful and uber cool models, Pepe Toth and Sztella Tziotziosz, who grace the Lux covers, will be joining us in the United States!  You heard right.  They are flying here, from Hungary to spend a few days as Daemon and Katy! While they are here, they will be working with Vania, from VLC Productions (the team behind Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments, Melissa de La Cruz, Kimberly Derting, Moira Young, Kami Garcia and Margret Stohl, Hillary Duff, Lauren Destefano, and many, many more authors’ book trailers), to film book trailers for the Lux Series.
During the filming in Atlanta, they will be accompanying us on tour! What does that mean? You get to meet them. In the flesh. They will be participating in the signings and events. At those signings, we’ll be giving away signed posters, photos, and other swag. There will also be meet and greet events you can join in on.
At each signing, there will be advanced copies of Onyx given away!
And to top things off (as if this isn’t enough, but we don’t do anything small), there’s something very, very exciting in the works! It involves advanced copies of Opal, water, and a little destination known as the Bahamas.
I am not kidding.
This will be epic.
Aare you excited? I am! This tour is going to be so, so much fun, and I’m so thrilled that Pepe and Sztella are a part of it. We owe them a huge thank you and a giant welcome making the 16 hour flight to meet the readers of the Lux Series.  You!

Synopsis: Meet Josephine Foster, or Zo Jo as she’s called in the biz. The best pint-sized photographer of them all, Jo doesn’t mind doing what it takes to get that perfect shot, until she’s sent on an undercover assignment to shoot Ned Hartnett—teen superstar and the only celebrity who’s ever been kind to her—at an exclusive rehabilitation retreat in Boston. The money will be enough to pay for Jo’s dream: real photography classes, and maybe even quitting her paparazzi gig for good. Everyone wants to know what Ned’s in for. But Jo certainly doesn’t know what she’s in for: falling in love with Ned was never supposed to be part of her assignment.

When I first started reading this book I was excited. It looked interesting and fun, but a few chapters into the book, even though I was enjoying it, I felt like I knew the whole story an felt a tug of disappointment, but I still kept going. Josephine and Ned develope a good friendship and get along nicely in the rehab center. Jo is falling for her assignment and she doesn't know what to do. How can she resist Ned when he's so charming?
I loved seeing a little bit into what paparazzis go through and I loved how it felt believable, everything in the story. I admired Jo because she's determined to make her dreams happen, which is to take photography classes, and she works her butt off to get the money she needs. She wants out of the paparazzi business so she takes on this last assignment because shell get tons of money. Once she gets in she has a n internal dilemma between what's right and what is her job. It gets worse for her when she starts getting to know Ned better.
I loved the twist that Allison throws into the story that completely surprised me. A great story.

So Over You by Gwen Hayes

Release Date: April 25, 2010
Publisher: Gwen Hayes
Age Group: Young Adult
Pages: 126
Format: Kindle
Shelfability: Bought
Source: Bookstore
Buy the Book: Amazon

Synopsis: Layney Logan, girl reporter.
That's all she's ever wanted to be. This year, her senior year, not only does she have to share the coveted Senior Editor position with her arch nemesis, Jimmy Foster, she also has to figure out how to keep the school paper alive. With the local paper closing and the school cutting Journalism from the budget, it's a long shot. Working side-by-side with Foster, the guy she likes to call Lucifer, makes it even worse.
The only thing Layney dislikes more than swimming in the high school dating pool is Jimmy Foster thinking he got the best of her, so she takes
his ridiculous newspaper assignment--to go on twelve blind dates--to prove his powers of darkness won't work on her. The trouble is, the more she learns about herself on her journey of bad blind dates, the more she wonders if maybe Foster has known her better than she knows herself all this time.

And maybe she should have trusted him with the secret she’s kept for four years—the secret that broke them up to begin with.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! It was funny and cute. It's a pretty quick read and I wished it would have been a little longer, but I fell in love nonetheless. Layney is strong and independent which I loved but she also had this softer side where she needed Foster, even though she didn't want to, and it was incredibly cute. They have this hate relationship going on most of the time, but from the beginning I had my doubts. Then it turns out that Foster and Laney dated a while back and she still hold a bit of a grudge and that's why she can't stand him... or so she claims. Laney and Foster are co-editors at the school newspaper and Layney believes that Foster is always trying to take her down, though I always actually saw Foster more on the defensive side rather than offensive. He was more like countering Lanyey's attacks all the time. I loved Foster because he was cute, funny and always got under Laney's thick skin.

One last thing I'll add; I hate spoiling but this is too hilarious to not talk about so I'm going to say it. Be warned, from here down what you will read is SPOILERY!

One of my favorite scenes was when Layney sneaked into the school office because she was suspicious (won't spoil any more than I already am with the what) and Foster had been spying on her and followed her in. The teacher comes back into the office and they hide in the closet so they don't get caught. So there they are, in a dark, uncomfortable place, totally invading their personal space. Layney's back is pressed up against Foster's chest and suddenly she feels something pressed against her back. Oh yeah, it's what you're thinking. When the teacher leaves and they get out of the closer she is just incredulous! And I laughed so hard! It was so funny! How she was so baffled and him embarrassed! And I'm going to quote his defense because I laughed a lot.
"Look, I'm a guy. Your ass was touching my groin. Of course I'm going to pop a boner. It's a natural reaction."

I leave you with that folks!

Spring Fun

Yes, I know I haven't blogged in forever! But well, it's Spring Break people! Well, technically it's over and I'm supposed to be back at school already, but I'm not. Right now I am away, staying in a hotel at the beach and catching some rays. The ocean is beautiful here!
Take a look...

Some people have asked, so I'll tell you that yes, that picture was taken from my camera. It's beautiful right? Some people have also asked where it is. It is in Puerto Rico, a little island in the Caribbean. I live here, though I wish it were closer to this amazing beach.
I have still been keeping up with my reading so I have new reviews coming soon. I'm also aware that I still owe the Shooting Stars review, so that's coming as well.
Hm... I think that's it for now.
