Synopsis: Most high school sports teams have rivalries with other schools. At Hamilton High, it's a civil war: the football team versus the soccer team. And for her part,Lissa is sick of it. Her quarterback boyfriend, Randy, is always ditching her to go pick a fight with the soccer team or to prank their locker room. And on three separate occasions Randy's car has been egged while he and Lissa were inside, making out. She is done competing with a bunch of sweaty boys for her own boyfriend's attention
Then Lissa decides to end the rivalry once and for all: She and the other players' girlfriends go on a hookup strike. The boys won't get any action from them until the football and soccer teams make peace. What they don't count on is a new sort of rivalry: an impossible girls-against-boys showdown that hinges on who will cave to their libidos first. But what Lissa never sees coming is her own sexual tension with the leader of the boys, Cash Sterling...
I adored this book! It was hilarious, sweet, and different from anything I'd read. I loved hte whole sex strike thing to make the guys stop fighting and all that sexual tension between Lissa and Cash.
I had an immediate like with Lissa because she was a girl in charge of her life. Who knew what she wanted and knew how to get it without depending on other people. She's strong and independant, admirable qualities in a lead character. But I also loved how she went putty whenever she saw Cash, and that he was just the sweetest guy ever. ♥
Cash is just your hot jock with a huge heart and I love how he accepts Lissa for who she is even with her need to control everything all the time. I was a bit irritated with Lissa for a while there at the end because I felt like she was deliberately making things worse!
In the end she didn't dissapoint me so I was happy once more, LOL. Even with the whole sex strike the story is about so much more. About friendship and relationships and family. A great read that I simply could not put down.
