As, I suppose, you all know this novel is a classic. It's centered around a small southern town.
The story evolves around the childhood of Scout, a small girl, and her brother, Jem. She talks about the gossip and taboos of the town as well as her own adventures. The story starts off with the introduction of their friend, Dill, and how he came to be in town. Soon, Dill finds out about the town's weird inhabitant, Boo Riley, who never leaves his house. Curiosity has them all intrigued and they do just about everything to try to see Boo.
Atticus, their father, is a very respectable man and a great lawyer. Chaos is released in town when Atticus is given a case in which he must defend a Negro that is being accused of rape. Times were complicated and Negros were at the bottom of the food-chain, so to speak. It was considered dishonorable, so poor Scout went through rough times. But the day the case is held before the judge, all hell breaks loose...
No more spoiling. You guys have to read it! Anyway, I really liked the story because it showed you how things were during those times and revealed the day-to-day life of townsmen. Harper tells the story in a very fun and entertaining way. if i'm honest at first i wasn't very into it but after 10 or 15 pages it good interesting and I read and read.
